Lungadige (Adige River)

Most runners in Verona need look no further than the banks of the Adige River for an ideal waterfront run. This classic riverfront path cuts through the center of the city and stretches out for several miles in either direction.  The best segment for running is along the north bank, from the Ponte Pietra to Ponte Catena (2.7 km one-way). This is the section with the a more separated and scenic off-road path. The short section along Regaste S. Zeno is also beautiful. Outside of the mapped route, you can run along the riverside road, but the path/sidewalk tends to be narrow.

Other Adige River Options: For a more rural option, Parco dell’ Adige, just south of Porto San Pancrazio, is quite pleasant. There are also a number of scenic options further north on the Ciclabile dell’Adige. The paved segment near Lake Garda is especially nice.

If it rains the path at the start becomes a muddy stream…
