Fushino River Path

Google Street View

The path along the Fushino River is the best bet for a longer, easy to follow running route in Yamaguchi City. A paved multi-use path, labeled the 501 Trail, runs along the north bank of the river for 3.2 km between Idegahara Kasen Park and Yabara Kasen Park. It’s a mix of open and wooded, with some nice views of the water.

At the eastern end at Idegahara Kasen Park, there’s a pedestrian bridge that crosses over to the south bank, where a less developed, but still runnable path goes south for ~1 km to Hirakawa Kasen Park. At that park, it’s possible to run for another ~0.5 km along a grassy field.

Essentials
  • 6.4 km out and back. Can add ~2 km out & back on the south bank
  • Fairly flat
  • Northeast end: Idegahara Kasen Park; Southwest end: Yabara Kasen Park
  • The parks. Other access points too.
