Designed in a grand style, the 290-acre Parc de la Tête d’Or is a European classic. A lake, grand allées, statues, specimen trees, rides, a zoo, botanical garden and rose garden. Most popular is the 4 km (2.5 mile) ‘jogging trail’, a wide paved path that follows the outer perimeter of the park. There are also numerous interior paths (mostly cinder surface), ranging from pretty sections along the lake to some wooded sections.
Run the park standalone, or make it a long one by running from central Lyon along the Rhône river paths. It’s ~2 km from Pont Wilson to the entrance of the park. Or,
