Capodimonte park, an expansive green space about 4 km north of city center, is home to the Royal Palace of Capodimonte, a former summer residence and hunting lodge of the king of Naples and Sicily. Today those 134 hectare grounds remain beautiful gardens, with paths, statues, and gardens radiating out to the north of the palace (now a museum). Runners will enjoy exploring these dirt and gravel paths through shady forest. A loop around the park’s outermost perimeter is 5.3 km (3.3 miles).
