Though the perimeter of the Jardins de l’Agdal falls into our Walls of Medina run, this area is a worthwhile run of its own – with lots of options and variation. We recommend starting in the 400 hectare Agdal Gardens, where the pathways are lined with colorful orchards. It’s easy to put together a 10 km loop of this park, but if you’re itching for more mileage, the Oasis Hassan II strip to the east of the gardens is a nice 1 km addition. Runners can expand the loop to Avenue Al Oued, Avenue Al Mssalla, and Avenue Tassiltante for a total of 15 km.

Our 10 km 'runseeing tour' of Marrakesh includes several of the city's main sites: numerous palaces and gardens, the Koutoubia Mosque, Place de l’Hivernage, Place des Ferblantiers, Saadien’s Tombs & more. Go early to beat the heat and crowds!
Run the garden-lined median of Boulevard Mohammed VI, which runs 8 km between Chamo El Ghoul and Agdal. Add on loops of Oliveraie Park, Menara Gardens, or Cyber Park for more distance.
The beautiful and historic Menara Gardens offer about 4 km of paths. Extend your route along Avenue Prince Moulay Rachid and add loops of Oliveraie Park/Cyber Park for a longer run.
Take a long run of up to 18 km on the wide dirt path outside the time-tested Medina Walls. It’s a good way to explore the historic old city while avoiding the crowds, and can be shortened by passing back through any gate.
For those staying in the popular resort area to the north of Marrakech, this is a convenient nearby run. Follow our 10 km loop of the Route des Jardins de la Palmaraie in combination with the east bank of Oued Issil.
