A highlight of running in the Danbury area is Tarrywile — a 23-room Victorian-era mansion with lovely grounds and adjoining 722-acre park. The Tarrywile Mansion has tours and is also a popular wedding spot. The park has 21 miles of hiking trails, 2 ponds, and a lake. This trail map shows several suggested loops. For an easier run with good footing, the 1-mile Pond Loop is recommended. More moderate is the Hearthstone Castle hike, and more challenging is the Mootry Peak Lookout Hike.
