Locals looking for a straightforward, longer road run often pop over to River Rd. (SR 21), which runs for 4 miles between the Horse Show Grounds an the Whiteface Landing Trailhead. There are intermittent views of a small river, and some nice open sections. It’s a gradual downhill from the town end. Do up to an 8-mile out and back. Or, for a 10-mile loop, start from town, take Main St. to Sentinel Rd. to the Olympic Jumping Complex, then River Rd., returning via SR 86.

Note: River Rd. has either a soft shoulder or no shoulder, but not too much traffic. Rt. 86 is busier but has a shoulder.
