For an easy trail run in Santdander with great views, we recommend the Panteón del Inglés. This is a trail along a clifftop bluff that features fantastic views of the water and beach below. It’s a narrow dirt path, but the footing is good and is safe for running. There are great views of the Bay of Biscay. The trail starts at Campo de Fútbol Municipal Cueto – Liberto Toca, where there’s also parking. The trail goes west for 2.5 km, passing the clifftop Panteón del Inglés clifftop shrine, ending at the El Bocal public bath. It’s fairly flat.
Google Street View
For a longer run, extend east of the Campo to the Cabo Mayor, which is similar type of terrain to the Panteón del Inglés. It’s 1 km east to the Cabo Mayor lighthouse. Ambitious runners can combine this with the Cabo Menor and our longer waterfront route.

One of those runs that has it all: gorgeous waterfront views, parks, historic & cultural sites, a clifftop palace, and runnable beaches. Up to 9.4 km one-way, but can be done in sections.
A park loop with a couple of options: 4.6 km loop includes paths around the reedy marshland of Parque Atlántico de Las Llamas and Parque Doctor Mesones, and an 8.9 km loop adds the spectacular clifftop Parque Mataleñas.
A nice run in western Santander. Enjoy paths through Parque Morales, and a jaunt up to a terrific running track. Optional section on a hilly trail through Parque Finca de la Remonta, with some great views.
Santander is known for its beaches. Sand tends to be soft, but some beaches are runnable. Best central beach for running is Playa El Sardinero, which can be combined with Playa de la Magdalena. Playa de Somo is a good destination beach for running.
