The Kelly Lake Trail is one of the more enjoyable places to run in Sudbury. It’s the best spot in the area for an easier, longer trail run.  The path is paved for the first 1 km and then gravel. The terrain is mainly wooded, with some nice lake views.  Overall, the trail is up to 4.3 km one-way, or 8.7 km out and back.

The trail starts at Fielding Memorial Park, the location of a bird sanctuary. Run east along the south side of the lake, paralleling the Trans Canada Hwy, as far as Southview Dr.

Add-On: The Hillfield Trail runs west of Fielding Park for 2 km west to Mikkola Rd. It’s part of the Trans Canada Trail. Combining these two is a run of 12.7 km.
