If you’d like a hill challenge in a lovely green space, we recommend the area of Itoyegawa Sabo Garden Park and the Kounomine Castle Ruins. This large green space has a quiet main road and paved paths that run to the Castle Ruins observation deck, and through the park. There are shrines and other historical landmarks. The landscape is mainly wooded — a good option on a hot day! There are nice views of the city from the observation deck. Map kiosks in the park and restrooms.

Combining all the roads & paths can produce a run of nearly 8 km. And it’s seriously hilly, climbing 200m and overall a 320m elevation gain if the full route is done.
