Danube River From Brankov Bridge to Zemun

Danube River path, Belgrade
Creative Commons: Mister No

There’s some very nice running along the Danube River in Belgrade. This route is in New Belgrade, on the west bank of the Danube. A paved multi-use path runs for up to 7 km from near the confluence of the Sava & Danube rivers, headed north to the Zemun area. The path is right alongside the river, with nice water views.

Start at Brankov Bridge (bridge=most), or 1 km south at Republika Srpska Park. Run along the riverside paths (Zemunski Kej), passing through several small parks. The path ends near the Tower Gardos landmark.

Add-Ons: This can be combined with paths along the Sava River. Use the Brankov Bridge to cross (busy road, but wide sidewalk).

Essentials
  • Up to 7 km (4.4 miles) one-way, including 1 km on the Sava River to the confluence
  • 34m (112 feet) one-way, headed north
  • Brankov Bridge, or other point from New Belgrade
