This is a short run on a path along the left bank of the Sava River. It’s in the New Belgrade area, developed after WW2 very much in the Soviet style, with sections of brutalist apartment buildings located in some 70 ‘Blocks’.
Sava River Left Bank. Google Street View
The east end of the paved path starts off Dr. Agostina Neta in Block 70a, and runs for 2.5 km west to a ferry stop of Dr. Ivana Ribara. There’s a path along the water, and additional paths in the park that runs along most of this area between Blocks 70a and 71.
Add-Ons: You can explore additional streets in the New Belgrade area, where there are numerous small parks and interesting architecture from the Soviet era. Another great option is to take the short ferry to Cignalija and run all or part of the lake loop — one of the most popular runs in Belgrade.

Scenic run in the New Belgrade part of Belgrade. A paved multi-use path runs alongside the west bank of the Danube River, from near the confluence of the Sava River, to the Zemun area. Up to 7 km one-way. Can be combined with Sava River route.
The Sava Promenade is one of the most scenic runs in Belgrade. Along this 5 km path, there are great views of the river, Kalemegdan Park/Fortress, and the Zemun area across the way. Good add-on options.
Our 10k 'runseeing' tour of Belgrade is easy to follow and has a nice variety: the largely pedestrianized historic centre, the upscale Dorćol neighborhood, parks including Kalemegdan & fortress, and paths along the Danube River. Good add-on options.
Kalemegdan is a large, hilly park in the historic center of Belgrade featuring a 2,000 year-old fortress, extensive paths, and great views. Put together a self-contained run of several km in the park, or combine with nearby river paths or our 'runseeing' tour.
One of the most popular runs in Belgrade is the 8 km loop around around the Ada Ciganlija Lake. Nice water views and a festive scene. There's a running track at the southeast end. The lake is popular for swimming & other watersports.
For some hilly running on forest trails, head to Košutnjak Park, located 6 km south of central Belgrade. There are hilly forest trails, a 1.2 km Tartan Track, and athletic facilities that are part of the School of Physical Education, University of Belgrade.
