In Tauranga South, this is an easy, flat long a narrow stream in the 300 hectare Kōpūrererua Valley. There are paved and natural trails in this area between residential neighborhoods. Kopurererua Valley Reserve is also the location of a weekly parkrun, Saturdays, 8am.
The more developed, paved trail runs for 6 km along the north bank of the Kopurererua Stream, between Waihi Rd. and Lakes Blvd., just east of Takitimu Dr. There are some water views, but it’s a narrow stream. There’s also a trail along the south bank, but it does not go the entire way (there’s a crossing just north of Wylie St.). One option is to take a detour into Cambridge Park, via a connector trail just south of Wylie St. If you’re doing this Stream trail out & back, this adds some nice variety, as it reconnects with the Stream trail at the Kopurererua Stream Bridge.
Add-Ons. Just north of the northern end of the trail, connections to the Waikareao Estuary Walkway.
