Greenwich is the unofficial capital of the ‘Connecticut Gold Coast’. It’s the most affluent town in Connecticut, and features numerous lovely neighborhoods. It’s a treat to take a run through some of these neighborhoods, enjoying quiet, tree-lined streets and beautiful homes. Doing a ‘residential’ run is a great option to find shade on a hot day, a street cleared of snow in winter, or to enjoy the blooms of spring or the colors of autumn. Here are some of the nicest areas of Greenwich for running.
Riverside Neighborhood, Greenwich. This beautiful neighborhood is in the area east of Mianus Pond. Lovely, winding, older streets. Note: no sidewalks on Riverside Ave.
Old Greenwich. The area east of Greenwich Cove, as far as the Innis Arden Golf Club. Nice to combine the quiet streets & historic homes of this older neighborhood with our waterfront Greenwich Point Park route. Also, the pond loop and wooded trails in Binney Park.
