The loop around the perimeter of Lone Mountain is a nice spot for some scenic laps. Located only a 20-minute drive from downtown Las Vegas and just east of Red Rock Canyon, Lone Mountain is a rugged peak of 3,300 feet. There is a 2.2 mile jogging path around the perimeter that offers good views of the surrounding mountains. It’s a wide, gravel-surfaced path with easy footing. Half of it is gradual downhill and half is gradual up, for an elevation gain of 211 feet. Note: Open & exposed, no water or bathrooms.

For those wanting to hike/trail run to the peak, the main path to the summit is a little over 1/2 mile, climbing some 520 feet. See hikingguy.com for more details about the hike.
