Aside from the paths along the Mississippi, the Bee Branch Greenway is our other favorite run in Dubuque. It’s a pleasant linear park trail along Bee Branch Creek and then a couple of parks.

The Greenway starts as a paved path near downtown off Garfield Ave. Follow the Bee Branch/N End Neighborhood Trail for ~1.2 miles. North of 32nd St./Peru Rd., the Heritage Trail continues for ~30 miles to Dyersville. It’s a paved path as far as Heritage Pond in Sageville (3.6 miles). From there, the Heritage Trail continues to Dyersville on a crushed limestone surface, becoming more rural as it passes into a 450 foot deep valley, past old mining and mill towns. and through through farm fields.

Add-Ons: At the Dubuque end, can follow the Bee Branch east for ~1 mile to our route along the Mississippi River & around Schmitt Island. @2.4 miles along the Heritage Trail, connect to the NW Arterial Bike/Hike Trail
