In the Catalunya District in southern Perpignan, a path runs along the narrow Canal de Perpignan for many km. We’ve mapped 6 km from the Auchan Shopping Center southwest to Canohès, though the path continues to Thuir and Ille-sur-Têt.

The path referred to as the Chemin des carlettess, is dirt-surfaced and runs mostly alongside the northern side of the canal. The canal itself is very narrow, so we wouldn’t describe this as a ‘waterfront’ run. The path is quite tree-shaded, so can be a good shade option on a hot day. The landscape is a combination of open & wooded terrain, with lots of farms and fields.
Longer Option: The canal path continues for another ~8 km to Thuir and then another 12-13 km to Ille-sur-Têt.

A lovely run combining a loop around Square Bir Hakeim, Perpignan's 'green lung' and the tree-lined quai paths along the Basse River, which is a tributary of the Têt River. It's an easy ~6 km loop, with an option to add the historic center (Ciudadela), or nearby Têt River paths for a longer run.
There's ~6 km of decent running along the Têt River in Perpignan. The paths are a combination of pedestrian promenade above the river, and some sections at grade that are also cycle paths. There are nice views of the river, the historic sections of Perpignan, and the snowy Pyrénées. Can add w/Basse River paths.
A scenic 6.7 km loop around Lac de Villeneuve-de-la-Raho, a lake located 15 minutes south of Perpignan. A firm gravel path encircles the lake, featuring nice water views.
