We are happy to share this story submitted by Blanche M., a blind runner who completed the 2026 TCS London Marathon with her guide Carolyn.
Warm, spectator lined closed streets, thronging crowds, 59,800 runners & us! It was an awe- inspiring sight & atmosphere, running the world’s most desirable marathon. After a long journey of winter training to the start line, I was ready to go.
Alongside many others with their own special reasons for running London and being a blind runner with my guide Carolyn, we were determined to enjoy every moment whilst raising funds for Moorfields Eye Charity. Family and friends cheered us — it was so uplifting! Tower Bridge and other landmarks were iconic. There were trips & stumbles, but we we were so happy cross the finish line!
