Utinga State Park (Parque Estadual do Utinga Camillo Vianna) is probably the best place for a longer off road run in Belém. The park is located about 8 km east of the center of Belém, and features several km of trails that are popular for running, as well as hiking, walking, and cycling. Pro Tip: Good shade option on a hot day!
The easiest and most popular trail for running is the nearly 4 km main paved circuit. It’s a combination of open and wooded terrain. Also popular is the 1.7 km Trilha Água Preta (Trilha=Trail), which runs for 1.7 km along the Lake Água Preta shoreline. The 765m Trilha do Patauá is known for its 25m tall palm tree.
Notes: Closed Tuesdays. Admission free, but there’s paid parking. Some of the more rugged, forested trails require a guide.
