Beira Mar de São José Waterfront Run

This is a short but scenic run along the waterfront in São José, a city directly across from Florianópolis and considered part of the greater metro area.  A brick-surfaced wide sidewalk and a paved cycle path runs along along São José Bay, featuring nice water views.

The path runs for 2.6 km from Av. Beira Mar to just past São José City Hall, so it’s a 5.2 km out & back. Just inland from the path, there’s an outdoor athletic complex with sports fields, tennis courts, and a running track (just short of the 1 km mark). For a longer run, you can continue for another 1 km on R. Gaspar Neves to the ‘Centro Histrico’ of São José. The road curls away from the water and the sidewalk is rather narrow.
