Eastville Park & Frome Valley Walkway 10k

Eastville Park. Creative Commons: Derek Harper

This is a nice 10k, entirely off-road run in the northeast part of Bristol, featuring two parks and a pleasant path along the River Frome. Start with a ~1 mile loop of Eastville Park, with its tree-lined paths and small lake. Exit the north end onto the Frome Valley Walkway — a flat, gravel, well-waymarked path that runs northeast alongside the Frome River. It’s mainly wooded, and a bit rugged in sections. Take this path for 2.3 miles. At Frenchay Rd., head south on an unnamed path into Oldbury Court Estate, a leafy riverside park with a combination of woodland walking paths & fields. Run through the park, exiting the west end back onto the Frome Valley Walkway, returning to Eastville Park.

Add-Ons: The Frome Valley Walkway continues past Frenchay Rd. for another 1.4 miles north to the M4. There are a couple of brief on-road sections. See our map.
