The 850-acre Ashton Court estate is among the running highlights in Bristol. Free and open to the public, there are lovely paths around rolling meadows and woodland of this former country estate. It’s also home to a weekly parkrun.

There are a few running options here. Starting at the estate, create your own route. It’s ~2 miles one-way west to Longwood Ln., passing Justin’s Meadow. There’s also a measured 5k course, and this 5k parkrun course.

Add-Ons: At Longwood Ln., continue south to Providence Lane for a good hill climb! Can also add with the Clifton Suspension Bridge over to Clifton Downs, the River Avon Path, or the more rugged trails of Leigh Woods.
