Cabo San Lucas has a surprisingly solid trail running scene – if you know where to look. Dedicated runners in the area flock to the extensive trail system in the Medano area of the city. There are no trail maps of the paths, but locals report that they begin near the Villa del Arco Beach Resort and Spa and continue west past the cemetery. From here, there are two options. Runners can continue west into the trail network that feeds towards the Thompson Cape Hotel. Or, runners can cross the highway to the Costco. More trails run from the roads behind Costco to the top of the Communication Tower Hill. The dirt terrain offers fantastic desert scenery, but it’s dry and hot, so be sure to carry extra water!
