Best Cardiff Neighborhoods for Running

Cardiff is a rather small city, and while there isn’t much architecture or character to note in the commercial city center, visitors will find plenty in Cardiff’s upper scale residential neighborhoods. There are lots of great areas, but some of the best streets to explore are in the Penylan, Pontcanna, and Penarth neighborhoods.

Penylan Neighborhood: On the southeast side of Roath Park. Cyncoad Road, Colchester Ave, Ty-Draw Road, and Ninian Road are some good choices.

Pontcanna Neighborhood: Hugging the west border of Pontcanna Fields, along the River Taff. Cathedral Road is the pick of the litter, but nearby Ryder Street, King Road, and Pontcanna Street are also nice.

Penarth Neighborhood: South of the marina along the Cardiff Bay. Check out some of the streets closest to Penarth Head, including Bradford Place, Clive Place, and Paget Place, for great additions to a loop around the marina.
