This ‘Runseeing’ tour of Barranquilla includes the more pleasant places for running in the historical center, showcasing especially the Paseo de Bolívar & Avenida 11 De Noviembre.  The Centro Histórico hosts a number of buildings of the Republican period and structures of historical and architectural value, while Paseo de Bolívar is the most important avenue of the city and a main commercial thoroughfare.

Option 1: 5 km: Start in the area of Plaza de la Paz, where you can see the modern Catedral Metropolitana María Reina de Barranquilla — built over 27 years! Run down C. 46 toward the river for 1.5 km. It’s a busy road but the sidewalks are decent. At the Museum of Modern Art, intersect with Paseo de Bolívar (C.34). The nicest part of this historic, tree-shaded street that goes for 1 km between C.45 & C.38. Retrace your steps to Plaza de la Paz. or, for a (less scenic/pleasant) loop option, use C.38 to Av. Murillo.

Option 2: 7.8 km. This adds 2.8 km out & back, showcasing Avenida 11 De Noviembre. From Plaza de la Paz, take Calle 53 or Calle 54 north for 0.4 km to Avenida 11 De Noviembre/Avenida Los Fundadores., which is a lovely, park-like street. Run west for nearly 1 km to Parque Santander, passing the Carnival Museum, Museo Romántico, and Parque Los Fundadores.
