There’s scenic waterfront running in the coastal town of Puerto Colombia, located 20 km west of Barranquilla. A major project, th Malecón del Mar, has resulted in a scenic waterfront path, parks, and the restoration of the Pier of Puerto Colombia, which at one time was the largest Pier in the world. The beach is also runnable.

There’s a good sidewalk on the Avenida Malecon/Calle 1E alongside the public beach that runs for 1.6 km from the El Faro De Los Sueños (Window of Dreams, a public monument) south to the Pier. There are nice views of the beach and the Caribbean Sea beyond. Then, run out the 1.2 km pier, enjoying the splendid views. Lots of folks walking and fishing. The pier, built in 1988, was destroyed over the years in storms, but was restored in 2021.

Add-Ons: You can continue south of the pier on Calle 2 for another 1 km. There aren’t water views, but it’s a quiet road with some nice homes. Also, 800m inland from the beach (use Carrera 10) is a running track at the Estadio Lulio González sports complex.
