Guadalquivir River Route

Creative Commons: José Luiz

The central part of Córdoba is quite compact, so there are multiple ways to mix and match running routes. This 10k route focuses mainly on the paths along the Guadalquivir River, including the Parques de Miraflores and an optional jaunt over to the Portada Feria.

Starting centrally at Cathderal of Córdoba, it’s inspiring to cross the historic Roman Bridge to the Torre De Calahorra. Turn LEFT and keep along the river for 2 km, through the more modern Parque de Miraflores, to the end of the path. Retrace your steps, the using Av. de la Diputación to access the bridge that takes you over to the Portada Feria Córdoba, where you can run the grounds around the aviation training institute and the Arcángel Stadium. Return over the bridge, passing the Plaza de la Iglesia, then turn LEFT along the wide path paralleling Av. Fray Albino. Cross over the San Rafael Bridge, and enjoy the final 2 km along the river on wide, tree-lined paths, first south through the Botanical Garden, turning around and continuing north, passing the Torre de Guadalcabrillas back to the start.

Shorter/Longer Options: Save 2 km by not doing the Portada Feria section. For longer, incorporate elements of our Córdoba Center & Park routes.
