This public access beach is about an hour to the east of Santo Domingo in the cosmopolitan area of Juan Dolio. It’s a popular destination for city dwellers to flock to on the weekends, and a convenient trip from Las Américas International Airport. Juan Dolio Beach itself is about 1 mile (1.6 km) long, but the runnable stretch of sand goes between Playa Real to the east and Playa Guayacanes to the west for about 5 miles (8 km). Running conditions best near close to the water and closer to low tide (tide chart).
