Koroyanitu National Heritage Park, located in Abaca Village in the northeast part of Viti Levu, is a good spot for a moderate to challenging trail run. The 35 sq. km park features trails to waterfalls & lookouts, and also a more challenging trail to Mt. Batilamu, the third-highest peak in Fiji. There’s a visitor centre in Abaca Village (blue house), which will furnish information & maps. Note: entrance fee required.

Waterfall Trails. There are two trails to waterfalls, known as Tunutunu & Savu-i-One, on terrain that’s a combination of fields and forest. The trails are rated easy to moderate, with OK footing. Savu-I-One is 5 km out & back, 373m gain. Tunutunu is 4.3 km out & back, 252m gain.

Mt. Batilamu Trail. This is a more challenging trail run. Steep, with more challenging, rocky footing. From the top of Mt. Batilamu, you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and some of the Islands off the coast of Viti Levu. 7km out & back, 800m gain.
