Indian Creek Trail

Google Street View

The Indian Creek Trail is a mainly wooded dirt trail that runs for 4.5 miles south of Hood River. It’s a popular recreational trail and a nice spot for a run. There’s an on-road section between miles 1.4 and 2.6. The trail is well-signed, with map kiosks. NOTES Hilly — a gradual climb headed north to south. Also, some sections are narrow.

The northern end is a trailhead at Hazel Ave. Head south on the trail — the first 1 mile is a 250 foot climb! At 1.4 miles (Pacific Ave.), there’s a 1.2 mile on-road section, mainly using Brookside Dr. Pick up the trail again at the Indian Creek Golf Course. This southern section of the trail is more open in parts. At 3.3 miles, there’s a running track at Henderson Stadium. The southern end of the trail is at Barrett Park.

Fun Fact: There are remains of a wooden flume which brought water to a fruit cannery downtown.
