One of the main attractions of Huế is its proximity to fantastic beaches on the East Vietnam Sea. These beaches can be excellent for running — wide, and with situationally firm sand near the water. Closest to Huế is Thuan An Beach. A bit further away are Lang Co Beach & Canh Duong Beach. Pro Tip: Gorgeous at sunset!

Thuan An Beach. About a 20-minute drive from Huế. Combined with other adjacent beaches, there’s some 10 km of continuous beach running here.

Lang Co Beach. Located 60 km south of Huế City, toward Da Nang. Another popular beach, for its lovely sand, sea views, and tropical scenery. A bit narrower than Thuan An. About 10 km long.

Lap Ann Lagoon. At Lang Co, you can also run at Lap An Lagoon. A unique phenomenon is the sand bar that juts out to the lagoon at low tide — you can run on water! There’s also a road around the lagoon, with water & mountain views. A full loop is nearly 20 km. An easier approach is ~2 km on the east side, just west of the QL1A Road, toward An Cư. There’s also ~3.5 km of waterside running on the west side of the lagoon along Trịnh Tố Tâm.  Note: No shoulder, and there can be traffic & scooters, but it’s generally fairly quiet.

Canh Duong Beach. Just north of Land Co Beach. There are two segments: Canh Duong Beach, near the 5-star Angsana Lang Co Hotel. The beach is 3 km long and lovely for running. Just south, across a short break of the Sông Bu Lu River, a crescent-shaped beach continues for another 5 km.
