Johor Bahru Waterfront & Zaharah Botanic Gardens

Creative Commons: Chongkian

One of the more scenic places to run in Johor Bahru is along the waterfront. A sidewalk/waterfront path runs along the palm-lined Stulang Beach from near the Pelabuhan Stulang ferry terminal to the R&F Marina. It’s ~2.5 km one-way. There are some nice water & skyline views.

Add-On: Botanic GardensNOTE: As of February 2024, might not be open to the public. For a longer run, continue for 1.5 km west to the Zaharah Botanic Gardens, using Jalan Tan Hiok Nee, a mainly pedestrianized street that’s a historic lane with shophouses. The botanical gardens are lovely. There are 2-3 km of paths, and we understand that jogging is permitted (though it can get crowded).

Essentials
  • A couple of options: Waterfront is 2.5 km one-way. Then, 1.5 km to the Gardens, which have 2-3 km of paths.
  • 33m (110 feet)
  • Stulang Beach
  • Can access from JB Sentral train station
