Just north of Klaipėda, there’s some nice running in the Melnrage Beach Area. A highlight is the wooden boardwalk that runs for nearly 2.5 km alongside and above the beach, with nice grasslands/dunes and views of the beach and the Baltic Sea. We’ve mapped a 7.3 km loop, which uses the boardwalk one-way, and then a wooded path just inland for the return. Note: the beach is also runnable, depending on tides.
Start in Melnrage at Audros g. The boardwalk starts just north of there. Run for ~2.5 km, to the end near the Antrosios Melnragės g. Parking Lot. Head for 0.5 km east, to join the wooded path. Run north for 0.7 km, and then turn around, taking the path with parallels all the way back for 3.3 km, paralleling Pamario g. road.
