Helsingør, a city of 60,000 in eastern Denmark. It’s directly across the Øresund strait from Helsingborg, Sweden. The two are joined by a 20-minute ferry, which at 70+ departures per day, is the busiest in the world! Helsingør is known for for Kronborg Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the inspiration for Shakespear’s Hamlet. The paths around the castle and adjacent waterfront are the best places to run in Helsingør. We’ve mapped a ‘runseeing‘ tour, as well as a route just north through a network of lovely forest paths. We also recommend heading across to Helsingborg, where we’ve mapped several scenic routes along the water, and through parks and forest paths.
