Hội An is a bustling, popular destination, known for its well-preserved Old Town, cut through with canals. The city of 120,000 people in Vietnam’s Quảng Nam Province is registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our guide to running in Hội An is paired with Da Nang, located 50 km to the north and often part of a tour that includes Huế.

We’ve mapped out two separate running routes in Hội An, which can be combined. The best place to run in Hội An is the ~5 km of fairly runnable roads and paths along the Thu Bon River. For a longer route and some of Old Town Hội An highlights, add our ~4 km loop around the Night Market and over to the waterfront path on the Cẩm Kim Bridge. Another good run is on the path/sidewalk alongside Cua Dai Beach to a lighthouse. It’s also possible to run on the beach (some sections better than others), which stretches for 30 km north to Da Nang.

Runner Notes: Be aware of the heat & humidity. And for more routes nearby, see our Da Nang running guide.
