Fifth largest city in Vietnam and an important port city, Da Nang lies on the coast of the East Sea at the mouth of the Han River. It’s busy, bustling, and scenic, ringed by mountains and the sea. Da Nang is a popular visitor destination, and often part of a trip that includes Hoi An and Hue. Like other places in Vietnam, it’s best to choose specific spots for running in Da Nang.
The best places to run in Da Nang are along the 30 km My Khe beach, paths around Da Nang Bay and along the Hàn River, and the quieter, hilly roads and paths of the Son Tra Peninsula. See also our separate guide for Hội An, which is 50 km south of Da Nang. Routes there include excellent running on the beach and out to a lighthouse, and some decent roads/paths along the Thu Bon River and out to Cẩm Kim island.
