Hàn River – Walkway and Bridges

Wikimedia Commons

The Hàn River Walkway is a great option for running in central Da Nang. Wide paths run on both sides of the river, showcasing Da Nang’s modern and colorful bridges. Starting from the Trần Thị Lý Bridge, a wide path runs along both sides of the river. The west side path is 5 km and the east side is 3 km. Note: A great place to run at night — well-lit and colorful!  Dragon Bridge has a famous light show every Saturday at 9 pm. Thanks to Runaroundasia for their additional color on this route.

West Side: Starting from the colorful, modern Trần Thị Lý Bridge, a wide path runs along the west side of the river for 5 km north to the Thuan Phuoc Bridge. Pass Dragon bridge (Cam Rong), with its the huge golden colored dragon statue. The Cau Song Bridge is a longer bridge with a good uphill when you run from downtown direction towards the beach side).

East Side: There’s a decent path for 3 km from the Cầu Rồng (Dragon) Bridge north to Vân Đồn.

A loop is also possible, incorporating the east and west sides using numerous bridges, although there are no crossings north of the Hàn River bridge until the Thuan Phuoc Bridge.
