Limoges, France

Limoges is situated in the first western foothills of the Massif Central, and is crossed by the river Vienne. The city is known for the spectacular Saint-Étienne Cathedral and its famous porcelain. There’s some terrific running in Limoges, with nice river paths and several medium-sized parks.

A great way to start exploring Limoges is on our ‘runseeing‘ tour, exploring the historic centre, botanical gardens, and several small parks. This can be combined with the 3 km of paths along the Vienne River. On the east side of the river, the paths of Parc d’Auzette extend all the way to Panaxol. One of our favorite places to run in Limoges combines a loop around Lac d’Uzurat, and adjacent paths in Aurence Park to Island and Bastide Woods. In northwest Limoges, there’s a nice route combining paths in Aurence II Park with a running track at the sports complex.
