Namur is a city of about 130,000 and is the capital of both the provinces of Namur and Wallonia. It sits at the confluence of the Sambre and Meuse rivers, and has a strategic position that led the city to be at the front lines of battels in WWI & WWII. There’s nice running in Namur, mainly on the longer distance cycle paths along the rivers and headed north of the city.

There’s also a pleasant cycle path headed north of town, passing through farm fields. Runners can also create their own route on the large network of quiet farm roads just outside the city — just make sure to avoid the ‘N’ roads!
