The cycle paths along the Meuse and Sambre rivers are among the best places to run in Namur. This route covers the path along the Sambre River, headed southwest toward Floreffe. The mainly paved path runs alongside the river, with nice water views. The landscape gets increasingly pastoral just outside town.
We’ve mapped up to 14.6 km to Franière. Starting in the center of Namur, we recommend running the first 0.8 km along the north bank of the river. Then, use the Passerelle Saint-Aubain to cross over to the south side of the river (option: loop around the Parc Louise-Marie), and run as long as you like! It’s possible to do a one-way run, using the train stations in Floreffe (12 km) and Franière.
Add-On/Variations: The Meuse river path is also accessible from the center of Namur. You can mix & match these routes!
