Park Staromiejski to Park im. Szarych Szeregów Linear Park Route

Creative Commons: Rakoon

One can put together a quite nice run through several parks just north of central Łódź. It’s almost all off-road, sort of a ‘linear park’. The route is 7-8 km out and back, with the opportunity to add additional paths in the parks.

Park Staromiejski. CC: HuBar

Start centrally at the Museum of the City of Lodz, running east through Park Staromiejski. The park features leafy paths, a pond & sculptures, including a statue of Moses holding up the Tablets of the Law. Continue east on Północna into Park Helenów, which dates to 1885. This landscaped parks features gardens, ponds, and lovely paths. There’s a running track at Stadion Społem. Continue north on the connector across Źródłowa into the more modern Park Ocalałych, which features a WWII memorial & monument, plus hundreds of trees planted by Holocaust survivors. A brief road section leads north into Park im. Szarych Szeregów. This park features a few km of scenic gravel paths, a public swimming pool, sculptures, and a sort of running track at Stadion Budowlani at its north end.
