Parque Querétaro 2000 is one of the most popular places to run in Santiago de Querétaro. Located in the northern end of the city, the park features paths around an artificial lake, a small park with landscaped gardens, athletic fields, and a terrific running track.

The signature route is the loop of the Plan Presidencial Benito Juárez, an artificial lake with firm sand paths around its perimeter. The outer path loop is 2.1 km. There’s an additional inner path at the north end of the lake, making for a shorter loop if 1.8 km. Combining the two is 4 km. The paths are wide, with lots of joggers and nice views of the water. Bonus: lit at night, and there are distance markers.

At the southern end of the lake, there are additional paths weaving around gardens and athletic fields. There’s also a running track at the west end.

Essentials
  • Lake loops of 2-4 km, and 2-3 km of additional paths in the park
  • Flat
  • South end of lake
