This is the classic Niagara Falls run, located on the Canada side. A wonderful path starts near Rainbow Bridge, heading south for 6 km to Kingsbridge Park. There are fantastic views of the falls along the path. In the busiest sections, it can be crowded during peak times and running might be a challenge. Passing Horsehoe Falls at 1.2 km, the path continues south to the Floral Showhouse and the Old Scow Lookout point (2.5 km mark). We also recommend a ~1 km tour of the Dufferin Islands, to Kingsbridge Park, with wonderful views of the Niagara River the whole way. At Kingsbridge Park, there’s a fantastic walkway over the river with great views back to the falls. The route is somewhat hilly, with a steady climb between from kilometers 1.7-4 & 9.3-10.3. The total run is 11.8 km (7.3 miles) out and back. Note: can be crowded in sections around the falls. Go early!
As part of the ‘there and back’, an option to vary the route is crossing over to the Fallsview area on the western side of the parkway, and running through the pastoral Queen Victoria Park. We recommend doing this on the southbound direction, since heading northbound you’ll want to be on the path closest to the falls.
Longer Run Options: A multi-use path runs alongside the Niagara Parkway for another 25+ km, all the way to the Peace Bridge just north of Buffalo. This a good opportunity for a longer run. The path is mostly on the western side of the parkway, opposite the river. Also, you can combine this with the New York side path — use the Rainbow Bridge, which pedestrians are allowed to cross (about 1 km).
- 11.8 km out and back. Can also continue on path for 25+ km south of Kingsbridge Park
