Pomorie is a lovely seaside town on a rocky peninsula that lies between Burgas and Nessebar. There’s some nice running in Pomorie, in two sections: a path atop a sandbar and a promenade alongside Secret Beach.
Sandbar Run. Google Street View
Sandbar Run: Just north of Central Beach, a sandbar extends for 6 km north to the Pomorie Saltpans. Starting near the Grand Hotel, the first 1 km is on a paved road where there are parked cars. Then the road ends, and a dirt path continues north along the sandbar for another ~5 km, ending at the Saltpans. It’s open and exposed, with good views, and a bit monotonous. Notes: It’s possible that the sandbar is flooded or submerged at times. Please consult locals and tide times. Note: There’s work to improve the path along Central Beach, in the main part of Pomorie.
Beach Promenade. It’s possible to run for nearly 4 km along the water from the Pomorie Center Science Museum west to the Helios Hotel. The first km includes a jaunt out to the Old Port and then on beach-side sidewalk along the main road. Then, just past Pomorie Pier/Pomorie Sign, a paved dedicated path runs west along Secret Beach for another 3 km. There are good sea views the whole way. Note: the beach is also runnable.

Nearly 8 km of seamless waterfront running in Burgas. It's a festive scene, and there are great views of area beaches and the Black Sea. We've divided the route into three sections, which you can run separately or combine for a longer run!
Iconic European park near central Burgas features paths passing lawns & landscaped gardens, large fountains, & monuments. There's also a multi-use path along the seafront. The park runs ~2.5 km north-south. Add with waterfront route.
Peaceful, scenic running in Kraymorie, 10 km south of Burgas. Run the 4.5 km Cape Foros loop separately, or combine with salt marsh paths in Nature Conservation Center Poda -- a popular birding area. Combination of wide dirt roads and some more rugged paths.
A fun exploration of the historic center of Burgas, using ul. Aleksandrovska as the anchor. This 1.8 km north-south boulevard is mainly pedestrianized and passes by several of Burgas' historic sites. Good add-on options.
Gorgeous seafront running in Nessebar, including a 3 km waterfront promenade encircling the perimeter of Old Nessebar. Great views of the sea and Old Town. Add with the cobbled streets of Old Nessebar, lined with Byzantine ruins.
Nessebar is known for its beaches, but they have soft sand and aren't great for running. South Beach is 1 km long and Sunny Beach is 5 km long. Sunny Beach includes a 2.8 km paved beachfront promenade, which is good for running and has some views.
Some great running options in Varna, Bulgaria's third-largest city: waterfront routes, lovely parks, a 'runseeing' tour of the historic center, and an easy trail running park.
