Located in Henderson, NY, the former estate of Robert Wehle is now a 1,000-acre state park, consisting of 3+ miles of Lake Ontario shoreline and 10 miles of trails. The trails are a combination of waterfront, woods, and open fields, wide and well maintained, suitable for all abilities. One of the best ways to get a sense of the park is along the nearly 5-mile Snakefoot Trail************@***il.com” data-hovercard-owner-id=”165″>. There are great views of Lake Ontario, along the cliffs. The grass trail is wide and well-maintained. Start at the parking lot at Henderson Shores Nature Preserve on Lighthouse Rd. and run 1 mile to the water. Head north along a waterfront path for 1 mile, and then loop back along some of the estate’s grounds and trails. There are restrooms 1.5 miles into the trail.
