There are wonderful, open trails in Tucson Mountain Park, located a ten minute drive east of Tucson. The 20,000-acre park features 62 miles of trail running, with options for each ability. The Marriott Starr Pass Resort is located at the gateway of the trails. Note: Little shade on these trails — use caution in sun & heat.
Among our favorite runs in Tucson Mountain Park is the Starr Pass Trail Loop. The 4.7 mile run features hills, flats, and great views of Tucson and Mt. Lemmon. It’s especially beautiful at sunrise and sunset, the trail is regarded as especially beautiful in the mornings and evenings, featuring views of Tucson and Mt. Lemmon.
For a more challenging option, there is an 8 mile loop that extends off the trail.
