If you like to run amid the hustle and bustle of city life, the long linear park down the median of Valparaíso’s Brasil Road is the spot for you. This green strip cuts right through the heart of the city, running for 1.7 km from Plaza Cívica in the west to Pontificia Universidad Catolica De Valparaíso in the east. Along the way, the concrete, stone, and dirt walkway is lined with palm trees, gardens, and monuments like Arco Británico and the Monumento al Bombero. There are also some stunning buildings along the way, including the Biblioteca Pública Santiago Severín and the Palacio Polanco. Runners can use Brasil as a starting place for other nearby points of interest in the city, like Plaza Victoria, Palacio Lyon, the Catedral de Valparaíso, and the Museo a Cielo Abierto. The Brasil walkway itself is 3.3 km out and back.
Add-Ons: The Valparaíso waterfront route begins near the eastern end of the Brasil route. Our Cerro Concepción route is located just east of the eastern end of the Brasil park.

The most popular places to run in Valparaíso are along the waterfront. There are paths starting from the center of Valparaíso and along the beaches of Viña del Mar. Up to 14.5 km one way.
There is more great waterfront running along the waterfront of the Playa Ancha peninsula, just to the west of Valparaíso. Follow Altamirano and Camino Costero for 4 km to the Mirador Viento Sur. Most of the routes is above the water, with great views.
Get in some hill work and enjoy some of the city’s best street art with this route around Cerro Concepción. It’s a great route for sightseeing and can be combined with the Brasil route for more mileage.
The large and lively Quinta Vergara park near Viña del Mar has plenty of great options for runs, from forested trails to lanes around the amphitheater and gardens. We’ve mapped a 2.6 km loop around the park.
For a small fee of $2 USD, runners can access a wide selection of trails and paths at the Viña del Mar Botanical Gardens. There is a pedestrian path, a shared cycling lane, and several other runnable trails and roads.
