The Cumberland Community Forest offers a great opportunity to experience Vancouver Island’s rugged, varied forest land. The 550-acre forest, which has been acquired and protected in phases over the past 20 years, features 200 km of trails and logging roads. It’s lush and green, with a variety of tree and plant species, including cedar groves and riparian areas. NOTE: This is a popular mountain biking area — use caution!

This trail map is a helpful resource in planning your route. The forest also has signage and maps at trailheads. The trails have varying levels of difficulty, in terms of hills, footing, and trail width. We recommend printing the map or purchasing a more detailed one.

Note: The Cumberland Forest is home to Red Legged Frogs, Roosevelt Elk, Small Eared Bats and other at risk species.
