Parco Nord Milano is one of the largest green spaces near Milan’s urban area and is a great place for a run. Located in the Bresso area about 8 km north of Milan, ‘Parco Nord’ as it’s called has a wonderful mix: landscaped, allée-type paths, cycle paths, and pedestrian paths. The terrain is mainly open, with some wooded, more shaded terrain in the northeast section of the park. There are three ‘areas’, from south to north: Parco Nord lato Via Comboni; Area Teatrino; and Gli ORTI. One can easily to a ~10 km run in the park on non-overlapping paths. There are also two running tracks: in the southeast end at Sports Center “Rino Fenaroli”, and at Centro Sportivo Pino Dordoni.
For running, we’ve mapped a 2.5 km one-way route using the main paths through the park, including the main path north of V. Carlo Clerici that passes several fountains. Use this as a guideline to create your own route. create your own route! Be sure to run some of the longer, allée paths, which are wonderful straight shots lined with trees: in the south section near the lake, in the middle section across the scenic Passerella Paolo Foglia (Bridge), and in the north section around the Fontana Triangolare (fountain). You can also use the Parkrun course to create your own 5k! NEW [2025]: Parco Nord has recently been expanded and improved with more interconnected pathways, fitness stations, and running tracks.
Nord Milano Park is home to Parkrun, a free group 5k held every Saturday morning @9am. INFO & COURSE MAP
