There is a fee to enter the Dr. Rafael M. Moscoso National Botanical Gardens (~$5 USD for non-Dominican citizens) but the cost is well worth it for this one-of-a-kind run. Not only are the ecological features of this eclectic tropical garden considered some of the best in the world, the miles of ornamental brick paths here are an enchanting escape from the busy streets of Santo Domingo. Starting from the Visitor’s Center, a loop around this 400 acre park is about 3.4 miles (5.5 km).
